Huawei Mate 30E Pro 5G Quietly Makes Debut With Kirin 9000E and 256GB Storage

The Chinese tech giant Huawei was busy in preparation of unveiling the top of the line Mate 40 series. Meanwhile, the Huawei Mate 30E Pro 5G makes its debut quietly with Kirin 9000E SoC. Unlike the flagship Huawei Mate 40 series, the Mate 30E Pro 5G offers a notch display and circular-shaped camera module around the back. Additionally, the phone is IP 68 certified i.e it has the water (up to 2m for 30min) and dust resistant coating to protect the device. Let’ have an introduction to the phone.

The whole device is built around a 158.1 x 73.1 x 8.8 (mm) dimensions and weighs around 198g. While at the upfront, the device is built around a QHD+ resolution OLED display panel of size 6.53″ inch with a vertical notch at the top centre. Besides, the screen panel has HDR10 support and retains an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. Underneath the notch, there is a 32MP selfie camera with an auxiliary 3D mapping camera (depth, biometric scanning). Around the phone back, there it has a circular-shaped camera module, an LED flashlight, and some branding texts. While the camera module consisting of quad-camera sensors of a 40MP primary sensor, another 40MP ultrawide sensor, an 8MP telephoto sensor and a 3D mapping sensor. Further, the camera sensors are equipped with OIS and 3X optical zoom.

Under the hood, there it has an octa-core system from Kirin 9000E. The chipset coming in a configuration of 2x Cortex-A76 at 2.86GHZ & 2x Cortex-A76 at 2.36GHz & 4x Cortex-A55 at 1.95GHz CPU cores fabricated in the 7nm process. Further, it bundled with Mali-G76 MP14 GPU and 8GB RAM alongside the 256GB UFS 3.0 storage type support. The system on the device runs on EMUI 11 based on Android 10 OS without Google Play service support. While the system is fueled by a 4500mAh battery, that draws power to the battery through a 40W fast charging mechanism built with the phone alongside the 27W fast wireless charging module.

Connectivity and biometric authentication

As far as the connectivity options are concerned, it has sub-6GHz band based 5G and Wi-Fi 5 connectivity. Whereas, the rest of the connectivity options including a USB Type-C port 3.1, USB OTG, Bluetooth 5.1. And other required sensors including GPS, Gyro, e-compass etc. For the biometric authentication, it has Face ID. As well as optical fingerprint scanner placed underneath the display of its bottom half.
