Huawei Nova 7 SE set to relaunch with Dimensity 800U rest unchanged

Due to the US sanctions, the Huwaei has restricted to manufacture its Kirin chipsets under the HiSilicon subsidiary. Back in April this year, when the company has unleashed the Huawei Nova 7 SE with Kirin 820 at the helm. Soon after, the situation has changed, HiSilicon is restricted to produce Kirin chipsets. The company was used to be the largest OEM beside Samsung. The sanction has changed the equation Samsung is only the Android OEM left in the market.

Huawei had to outsource chipsets from other vendors like MediaTek. Recently numerous Huawei phones with MediaTek chipset has launched but lacks the google play support. In a recent development, the Nova 7 SE has spotted on TENNA certification authority under the model number “CND-AN00”. A reliable Chinese tipster has confirmed the existence of the Nova 7 SE this time with Dimensity 800U at the helm. While the rest of the phone remains unchanged. Upfront, the phone is built around an FHD+ resolution LTPS IPS display of size 6.5″ inch with a punch hole at the top left. Besides, the screen has a 20:9 aspect ratio viewing experience while having HDR10 complaint. Underneath the punch hole, there we have a 16MP selfie camera. Around the back, we have an array of quad-camera sensor module vertically aligned with an LED flash. The sensor including a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor.

Under the hood, there we have an octa-core system from MediaTek Dimensity 800U SoC. That configured at 2XCortex-A76 at 2.4GHz & 6XCortex-A55 at 2.0GHz CPU cores fabricated in the 7nm process. Further, it bundled with Mali-G57 MC3 GPU and LDDR4x RAM along with UFS 2.1 storage support. The system on the phone runs on EMUI 10.1 custom skin based on the Android 10 OS. While it gets fuel from a 4000mAh battery that draws power through a Type-C cable with 40W fast charging mechanism.

At the connectivity side, it has 5G network support based on the sub-6GHz and the Wi-Fi 5. Rest of the connectivity option includes a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.1, fingerprint scanner (side-mounted), etc.

Price and availability

The previous Nova 7 SE was priced at $449.99 (around ₹33,100) for the 8GB+256GB model. The Nova 7 SE has arrived with two storage variants configured in 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB. When the rest of the phone remains unchanged, perhaps the updated Nova 7 SE could arrive in the same storage configuration. However, the price is expected to less expansive than the previous Nova 7 SE. It offers four colour options to choose from Black, Crush Green, Space Silver and the Midsummer Purple.
