Poco M2 Pro To Launch In India With Snapdragon 720G

After the numerous leaks, teasers, and hypes the Poco M2 Pro is going to make its debut in India on 7th July 2020. The microsite of the phone on Indian e-retailer Flipkart gave us as many hints as we need to know about the phone. The phone will be unveiled via an online event that is scheduled for 12PM local time on 7th July. This M series of Poco will join the Poco X and Poco F series in the country. From the various leaks and glimpse of the phone suggesting that it will be the rebranded version of Redmi Note 9 Pro. Which means it going to have the same old processor Snapdragon 720G. Let’s have a brief introduction of the phone on the basis of leaks and teasers.

Starting from the display the M2 Pro features a 6.67″ inches of FullHD+ IPS LCD screen. Further, on the screen, there is a punch-hole at the top center. Besides, the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection with the peak brightness of 450nits. Beneath the punch-hole, there could be a 16MP selfie camera sensor. While on the backside of the phone there is a square-shaped camera unit of quad-camera sensors. The camera sensors are including a 48MP main camera sensor, an 8MP ultrawide camera sensor. The rest two of them are a 5MP macro camera sensor and a 2MP depth camera sensor.

As far as the performance is concerned the is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor. The processor is further fabricated in a combination of 2×2.3 GHz Kryo 465 Gold & 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 465 Silver cores in an 8nm process. Besides, the processor is coupled with Adreno 618 GPU and 6GB LPDDR4x RAM. The phone runs on MIUI 11 on the top of Android 10. Furthermore, the system is powered by a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support on the go.

In terms of connectivity, the phone includes 4G LTE, USB Type-C connector, Side-mounted fingerprint scanner, WiFi, GPS, and others.

Price, Variant, Availability

The phone will be announced on 7th July, and may available on or after the given date. In terms of storage from the various leaks suggests it will have a 4GB-64GB base variant along with 6GB-64GB and 6GB-128GB storage variants. The color options are yet unknown. However, considering the price of Redmi Note 9 Pro, it was ₹13,990 for the base variant. So, the Poco M2 Pro is expected to be slightly less in price as it has some toned-down specifications than the Redmi Note 9 pro.
