Galaxy A42 5G to arrive with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC

Earlier this month, the South Korean tech giant Samsung had announced the Galaxy A42 5G. The phone to be debut as the company’s cheapest 5G phone, previously the phone was announced with key features except for the processor. Earlier, the phone is being speculated to have the Snapdragon 690 SoC until now. The phone has been spotted on a benchmarking platform GeekBench. The process reveals it has a presence of 2X base CPU cores at 2.21GHz. Whereas the Snapdragon 690 has base CPU at 2.0GHz, recently Qualcomm has announced the latest instalment in the 700 series. The new Snapdragon SoC debut Snapdragon 750G that has the base CPU cores at 2.2GHz. The theories have been ranted up of being the Snapdragon 750G SoC at the helm of the Galaxy A42.

Galaxy A42 is a true 5G phone?

If the above speculation is true, then the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A42 5G will have full-fledged 5G connectivity. As the new Snapdragon 750G supports both the mmWave as well as Sub-6 GHz spectrum. Hence, the Samsung Galaxy A42 will be a true 5G smartphone in the mid-range category. In the previous report, the phone is to be priced under $350 (around ₹26,000). Undoubtedly the 5G industry keeps making progress, the Snapdragon 750G is bundled with the X52 modem. That gains a peak download speed up to 3.7Gbps on 5G and 1.2Gbps on 4G LTE. While it lacks the support for the Wi-Fi 6 otherwise it will be called as flagship SoC killer in the budget segment.
