Honor 9X Pro Without Google Service – Good or Bad?

After the successful launch of Honor 9X Pro in china. The company released Honor 9X Pro in the Indian market without Google play services. The phone indeed ships with the premium features but lacks google supports. However, the phone still runs on Android which is a good thing for Honor fans in India. Before any judgment, let’s have a birds-eye on the features and specifications.

Honor 9X Pro Features & Specs

Starting from the display, the phone features a 6.59″ inches of FullHD+ no notch full view display. On the rear side of the phone, there is a triple camera set up which consists of a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP wide-angle sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. While there is a 16MP Pop-up selfie camera on the front side.

Under the hood, it is the Kirin 810 CPU 2.3GHz based on 7nm architecture coupled with ARM Cortex-A76 cores and Turbo GPU 3.0. While CPU & GPU are further backed by a liquid cooling system to enhance the performance. In terms of storage, it starts from 6GB(LPDDR4x) RAM and up to 256GB(UFS 2.1) internal storage space which further can be expanded via MicroSD card up to 512GB.

The 9X Pro is powered by a 4000mAh battery it can give upto 10hours of gaming claimed by the company. As far as the connectivity is concerned it includes USB Type-C port, 3.5mm Audio jack, Bluetooth 4.2, Dual-Band Wi-Fi, GPS and other connectivity features.

Price, Availability, & Services

The Indian price of the phone is ₹14,999 rupees and will be available on Flipkart.

If you are more concerned about Google services, don’t worry 9X Pro still ships with Android. And it does ships with Android Pie on the top of EMUI 9.1, you can use 3RD party app store like App gallery, 9Apps, etc. So even without Google play services, it is still powerful as earlier it was used to be.

However, you will miss some apps like Amazon and Netflix. Some prominent apps are included after the launch like Flipkart, Paytm, ArogyaSetu, HDFC, ICICI, etc.

Judgment: It depends on you if Google Services are more important to you, consider skipping this device or any kind of Huawei/Honor devices in India. Though it is backed by Huawei Mobile services(HMS) but Google Service is trustworthy when it comes to privacy and sensitive data protection.
