Realme C17 Spotted on GeekBench with Snapdragon 460 and 6GB RAM
Not that long ago when the Realme C15 was announced, the improved version of Realme C11. The Realme C15 was unleashed in July this year, the only weak point of the Realme C series is the repetitive use of the MediaTek Helio G35 SoC. The last phone from the Realme C series with a powerful chip was the Realme C3. After that, the Realme C11 continues the legacy of the C series. Two months after the launch of the Realme C15, the company has spotted working on the successor. The successor going to debut as the Realme C17, it will have some key improvements over its predecessor.
Realme C17 GeekBench listing
In the GeekBench listing, a model number from the Realme has spotted. It carries the model number RMX2101, it has managed to score 253 points on a single thread. Whereas, on multi-threading it able to score 1248 points. The motherboard of the phone listed under the code name “Bengal”. The code name “Bengal” belongs to the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 460. Earlier, the OnePlus Clover also features the same SoC at its helm.
The reason for ditching the MediaTek Helio G35 SoC is unknown. While the Helio G35 has 27.8% faster CPU speed than the Snapdragon 460. Even the Snapdragon 460 was less efficient than the Helio G35. The Helio G35 was processed at 12nm architecture whereas, the Snapdragon 460 processed at 14nm architecture. While both SoC has configured with ARM’s Cortex-A53 CPU cores. The Helio G35 has 2.3GHz CPU speed whereas, the Snapdragon 460 has 1.8GHz CPU speed. In terms of affordability the MediaTek chipset as relatively less expensive than the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets.
Beside the SoC, the GeekBench listing also reveals the RAM capacity. Earlier, the Realme C15 had launched with a max of 4GB RAM. While the Realme C17 has 6GB RAM, perhaps it could be the top model. The base model could have 3GB RAM while having 64GB onboard storage. The Realme C series ships with the storage expansion support through a dedicated microSD card slot.
